I wanted to see how the technique of laminating and then turning stone worked. Idea was to be able to use smaller blocks of stone (waste and fallout) to achieve decorative patterns. Also tried turning small cylinders of stone which were then inserted into bores in a larger block and then the whole piece was turned.
